How Diabetic Supply Buyers handles the information you give us.
This page is a starting template. It describes how this website works, and it is not legal advice.
Rules on handling personal information, and on anything touching health, are different in every state and they change. Diabetic Supply Buyers should have a lawyer review this page before relying on it, and should edit anything that does not match how this business actually runs.
This site is operated by Diabetic Supply Buyers. You can reach Diabetic Supply Buyers at diabeticsupplybuyers.com@gmail.com or 4052023953.
We buy unused, sealed, in date diabetic supplies from members of the public. This page covers the information we collect through this website and when we meet you.
When you offer us supplies we collect the name, email address and phone number you give us, along with the details of what you are selling (the product, the lot number and expiry date printed on the box, its condition and how many you have), and anything you write in the notes.
If you message us through the chat on this site, we keep those messages so we can answer you and so we have a record of what was agreed.
When we actually buy from you we also check your government issued photo ID and record that we saw it. We keep a record of what we bought, the lot numbers, and what we paid.
We do not ask for, and this form does not collect, anything about your health, your diagnosis, your prescriptions or who they were written for. We only need to know what is in the box.
Please do not send us medical information. If you do, we will delete it. If a box has a pharmacy label with someone's name on it, that is a box we cannot buy anyway, so there is no reason for us to hold it.
We are not a doctor, a pharmacy or a health plan, so HIPAA does not apply to us. That cuts both ways, and we would rather say it than let you assume otherwise.
What does apply is ordinary consumer privacy law in the state you live in, and our own rule that we do not collect health information in the first place.
To work out what your supplies are worth, to contact you about our offer, and to arrange a time and place to meet.
We also keep a record of completed purchases, including lot numbers, because we need to be able to trace a product if it is recalled, and because the law in most states requires a business that buys goods from the public to keep a record of what it bought and who it bought it from.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to advertise to you on behalf of anyone else.
We do not show a price on this website. Somebody reads what you sent and replies with an offer, usually by text, so giving us your number is how you get an answer. We use it for that and to arrange meeting you.
Some of those messages are sent automatically. You can stop them at any time by replying STOP to any text, or by telling us. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. We do not give your number to anyone else to market to you.
Diabetic Supply Buyers uses ResellMaxx to run this website and to store offers and messages. ResellMaxx processes that information on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.
We share your details with no one else unless we are legally required to, or unless we have to trace a product: for example, if a manufacturer or a regulator issues a recall covering a lot we bought from you.
Offers that do not lead to a sale are kept for up to two years so we can see the history if you come back to us.
Records of completed purchases are kept for at least three years, so that a recall can be traced. We cannot delete those early even if you ask us to.
Whether or not the privacy law in your state applies to a business our size, we will handle these requests for anyone who asks. You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to stop using it for advertising.
To make a request, you can reach Diabetic Supply Buyers at diabeticsupplybuyers.com@gmail.com or 4052023953. We may need to check who you are before we answer. Someone can make a request on your behalf if you have authorised them to. We will not treat you differently for asking. If we say no, tell us and we will look at it again. We aim to answer within 45 days.
This site is not for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and we do not buy supplies from anyone under 18.
If you think a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting who at Diabetic Supply Buyers can see it. No system is perfectly secure and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
If information about you is exposed in a way that the law requires us to tell you about, we will tell you.
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page. The date below is when it last changed.
